Since Olympus is not a household name in printing, unless you live in a major market all ordering must be done online.4-Limited use because of print size. Now the negatives:1- No Windows 7 drivers (yet). Add that to the fact that you have to use special paper and ink cartages and you are into some serious money to print some 4-6, or smaller pictures.3-Ink cartages and special paper (they come as a set) probably must be ordered on line (not a problem as long as you know you can't get resupply at a local store). If you have Windows 7 I would check to see if any drivers are available before you buy if you want to print from your computer.2- Expensive.
I won a P-11 in an office contest, so the price was right. May or may not be an issue, but it seems to me that for $150 I ought to be able to do 5x7 or 8x10.5-Printer comes with paper and ink for only five pictures. I went to Best Buy and told they what I needed and he looked at me with an expression of pity and sympathy. First, it does do a very nice job with boardless 4x6 prints and the quality, to my eyes, is as good as it gets.
the P-11 retails for $150. So, if you do buy be sure to get extra paper and ink when you get the printer. I hooked it up to my Canon Powershot SD750 and everything worked great. I went to the Olympus web site and emailed Olympus help and have not had a return response.
Excellent rapid service, product in very good condition even the literature about the product was enclosed
No complaints, I just wish it was capable of larger pictures. I purchased this item for $29.00 new at a blow out sale.
This is my first at home dedicated printer. I proceeded to take about 10 pics for her of the then vacant condo. I dislike using my inkjet printer due to he cost per print so generally it is a trip to a one hour photo to get prints. I carried over my camera and printer to the new place.
I have been a Nikon user but love the new printer - camera combination. Went to the printer set up on the kitchen counter and printed the pictures. This beats running the the local 1 hour processing by a long way. The only issue I have is adjusting my picture taking to how the combination crops pictures (e.g 4:3 to 3:2). You have to keep in mind that there are a lot of variables in the enteire process starting with the photographer eye.The printer generated good clean prints. I have an Olympus E-500 camera that coupled nicely with the printer.
Total time -- less than 1 hour. All in all I am very satisfied. I think the best way to discribe the printer is to look at it's flexibility by giving you an example.A very good friend of mine was in the process of moving into a new Condo and wanted to take pictures to work. I think the camera weighs more but no big deal either way.
I am really enjoying taking digital pictures again. The printer is so easy to use I printed pictures minutes after I set it up. The prints are wonderful continuos tone pictures, just like photos from any photo store.
